"There is so much writing in English on Japanese cinema that can't be accepted at face value — not because the writers are careless, but because the differences in culture and language are just too intricate. When I see August Ragone's name on a piece of writing, it gives me permission to place my faith in it completely. Among Japanese fantasy film historians, he's the best working in English."— Tim Lucas, Video Watchdog
Author of EIJI TSUBURAYA: MASTER OF MONSTERS (Chronicle Books). August has commented on Japanese film and popular culture on television, radio, in print, online, and at film festivals for more than twenty-five years.
He has contributed liner notes for DVD releases (editing over 100 subtitle scripts, so far), and has written for the Japanese Fantasy Film Journal, Video Watchdog, Filmfax, Henshin! Online, G-Fan, Super7 and Otaku USA.
The San Francisco native has also worked as a music and events promoter, producing such events as The Greaseball, Incredibly Strange Wrestling, and Shock It To Me!.

I feel honored to share a natal anniversary with these two fine actors. And Siouxsie Sioux and the Golden Gate Bridge for good measure.
One word describes Vincent Price: Awesome!
In particular, I loved his performances in "The Last Man on Earth", "House of Usher", and of course "The Fly".
