"There is so much writing in English on Japanese cinema that can't be accepted at face value — not because the writers are careless, but because the differences in culture and language are just too intricate. When I see August Ragone's name on a piece of writing, it gives me permission to place my faith in it completely. Among Japanese fantasy film historians, he's the best working in English." —Tim Lucas, Video Watchdog

THE 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN: DAY 1
Rob Kelly's Classic Monster PSAs!

"On the first day of Halloween, my true blood gave to me, a Senior Lon Chaney!"

Guys and Ghouls, it's finally that bewitching month of the year again: October! And October means Halloween! My favorite time of the year — so, much so, that I celebrate the Halloween Season all month long, and why shouldn't we? This year, each and every day, I will be posting some fang-tastic poster art by illustrator Rob Kelly. For those who are unaware, Rob Kelly is a freelance illustrator from New Jersey, with many psychotronic interests, who has created some amazing tributes to the classic monsters of cinema in the form of wry PSA and re-imagined movie posters! Among his favorite movies are ABBOTT & COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN, 12 ANGRY MEN, and IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD — reason enough for us to bow our shrunken heads to him! His clients include Harper Collins, National Basketball Association, Popular Science, Time Out New York, The Grammy Awards and Vibe.

HARPY HALLOWEEN, EVERYONE!

great idea!!
I watch one horror movie a day the entire month to celebrate. Plus, the New Bev in Hollywood is playing a wolfman/invisible man double feature on Halloween. Might go to that.
