"There is so much writing in English on Japanese cinema that can't be accepted at face value — not because the writers are careless, but because the differences in culture and language are just too intricate. When I see August Ragone's name on a piece of writing, it gives me permission to place my faith in it completely. Among Japanese fantasy film historians, he's the best working in English." —Tim Lucas, Video Watchdog

Owning the hardback, I have to ask before I double-dip, what the updated and amended content is, please ?

VW,
We corrected all of the photo captions (some of which were riddled with errors and inconsistencies), unified all film titles, continuously (there were a few instances of this, especially in Sogo Tomiyama's sidebar), clarified several points, expanded and updated the Acknowledgements.

And reinstated two missing paragraphs on the production of DOGORA, THE SPACE MONSTER (1964).

That about sums it up.

Cheers,
August
